Alumni Meet ‘ALUM- 2017-18’
on 8th July 2017

A 1stAlumni meet was held under the title “ALUM-2017-18” on 08/07/2017 Saturday at 3:30p.m. in the Dept. of Mathematics.26 students who had passed T.Y.B.Sc. (Maths) from Poona College participated. The program was presided over by Mrs. Atiya Khan(H.O.D Maths). Aims and objectives of the meeting were conveyed by her. She encouraged the participants to play active role in strengthening the relationship with the institution by their contribution. The participants introduced themselves and expressed their views.They intended to extend their cooperation with the Institution. Mr. Shaikh Wasim(alum) announced to give free coaching to 5 meritorious students of XIth&XIIth (for Maths, Phy&chem.) in his institute“Talent-Hub coaching” at Rasta Peth.

To communicate with alumni department created what’sup group and will update it time to time. The program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. Shaikh. Amjad (Asst.Prof.).At the end refreshment was served to all participants.

A study Tour to  Science Park, Chinchwad, Pune. A study tour organized by the department of mathematics was held on 19th December  2013 to  Science Park,Chinchwad, Pune. The team of around 30 students of T.Y.B.Sc (Mathematics) and three   staff members visited the place.They enjoyed  simulated night sky with various  planets , stars, phases of moon, circumpolar sky on poles and many more features and concepts of basic astronomy.  They also visited various sections of the parks such as Dino park,Fun science,Climate change, energy park & amazing  3D show.They purchased many scientific toys  like mathematics puzzle, balloon  car etc for children, which can create awareness about mathematics & science. A trip to Nehru Planetarium and Science Park, Mumbai-January 2016

A study Tour  to  Nehru Planetarium and Science Park, Mumbai. An Excursion Tour to visit Nehru Planetarium and Science park (Mumbai) was organized by the department on 16 January 2016 . The team of around 31 students of S.Y/T.Y.B.Sc (Mathematics) and three  staff members visited the place. The   visit inspired the students for higher studies. It was amazing experience for them  to learn about solar and Lunar eclipses, planets and stars.  They gain beautiful knowledge and  enjoyed  the tour. overall the tour was fruitful.  It has generated interest  among  them about the wonders of science and created awareness about the  various  applications of Mathematics in science and daily life.  A trip to Nehru Planetarium   Tour participants at Gateway of India

Intercollegiate Quiz Competition -2024

  Department of mathematics, statistics in association with IQAC  had organized Intercollegiate Quiz Competition on 14th March 2024. The Competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 50 participants have participated in quiz competitions of which 21 participants from outside colleges. The competition kicked off with an energizing quiz, testing participants' mathematical sharpness and problem-solving skills.   The event provided a platform for students to showcase their academic talents, fostered a sense of community among participants, and promoted interdisciplinary collaboration.
