Intercollegiate Poster Competition 2024-25

  It’s a matter of great pleasure that Department of Mathematics in association with IQAC has organized Inter-Collegiate Poster Competition entitled “Role of Mathematics in Modern Technology ” on 4 th September 2024. The main objective of the competition was to create awareness among the students about various applications of mathematics in modern technology. The program was inaugurated by honorable V ice Principal and Head, Department of Mathematics Dr. Amjad Shaikh . The program was coordinated by Ms. Malika Mukadam  and Mr. Mubeen Ansari under the guidance of V ice Principal and Head, Department of Mathematics Dr. Amjad Shaikh . The p osters were judged by Mr. Khalid Ansar Shaikh Head Department of Statistics Dr. D. Y. Patil Arts, Commerce, Science College Akurdi, Nigdi Pradhikaran Pune. while Dr. Jahir Abbas were the internal judge.   22 students of F.Y/S.Y/T.Y.B.Sc./B.A./B.Sc.(CS) participated from various colleges all over Pune. Alumni meet Aug, 2024

  Department of Mathematics in association with IQAC organised Alumni meet on 24th August 2024 under the guidance of the principal Dr Iqbal Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Amjad Shaikh . The program commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran (Tilawate Quran)._ Dr. Amjad  Vice Principal and Head of Department, delivered a welcome address, sharing valuable information and setting the tone for the event. Career Guidance Program entitled "Career in IT after BSc (Mathematics)

 The Department of Mathematics in association with IQAC conducted a C areer Guidance Program entitled "Career in IT after BSc (Mathematics) today 24th August 2024 at 11.30 am in Conference hall for FY/SY/TY/BSC/BSC(CS)/BA students. Under the guidance of our Principal, Dr. Iqbal Shaikh, and Vice Principal, Dr. Amjad Shaikh, who continuously drive us towards excellence, we have been able to organize such programs successfully. The program begins with few verses from holy Quran by Parvez Qureshi student of TYBSC Mathematics followed by felicitaion of resource person and welcome address by Dr. Amjad Shaikh Vice-Principal and Head, Dept. of Mathematics. Career Guidance and Farewell Program 2023-2024

  A program on Career Guidance and Farewell for the students of   TYBSc Mathematics was organized by the department on 1 st   May   2024 at Conference Hall at 11:00am . This event was coordinated by Ms. Malika Mukdam. Mrs.Shaheen Khan introduced our Vice principal   Prof .Moinuddin Failai, Head of the Department Dr. Amjad Shaikh Felicitated Prof. Moinuddin Falai, Prof. Moinuddin Falai Guided Students for their future endevours. Head of the Department Dr. Amjad Shaikh delivered a lecture on various opportunities of jobs, especially in Government sectors, Banking, Railway & Finance department. Around 14 students. Students showed their enthusiasm towards higher education and preparation of competitive examinations like U.P.S.C., M.P.S.C.,S.S.C. etc.   The topper students were felicitated. Students expressed their views and opinions about the department and subject. The program was summed up with vote of thanks by Ms. Malika Mukadam .

Guest Lecture on the topic “Maryam Mirzakhani: A Traiblaizing Mathematics Genius”

  Department of Mathematics , Statistics in association with IQAC had organized G uest Lecture on the topic “Maryam Mirzakhani: A Traiblaizing Mathematics Genius” at 12:30PM in conference hall on the ocaassion of   International Mathematics Day (Pi Day) on 14 th  March 2024 .  Mrs. Shaheen Khan introduced guest and our respected Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh sir  felicitated the guest Dr. Ganesh Kadu (Assistant professor, Department of Mathematics, SPPU). Dr Ganesh Kadu delivered very informative talk about Mariyam Mirzakhani and her contribution in mathematics. The lecture was attended by 66 students from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University and 7 faculty members of mathematics and statistics departments.   This event was coordinated by Dr. Amjad Shaikh. We thanks to respected Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh sir and Dr. Iqbal Shaikh sir for guidance, motivation and standing as pillars of strength.

Intercollegiate Seminar Competition

  Department of Mathematics , Statistics in association with IQAC has celebrated International Mathematics Day (Pi Day) on 14 th March 2024 . On this occasion department had organized Intercollegiate   Seminar Competition. The competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like  Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 13 participants have participated in seminar competition of which 8 participants from outside colleges.   The  event  provided a platform for students to showcase their academic talents, fostered a sense of community among participants, and promoted interdisciplinary collaboration. International Mathematics Day Celebration 2024

  Department of mathematics, statistics in association with IQAC has celebrated International Mathematics Day(Pi day) on 14 March 2024. On this occasion various events like Intercollegiate Mathematics Competitions, such as Quiz,  Seminar competitions and Guest lecture  were organised. The Competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 62 participants have participated in quiz and seminar competitions of which 28 participants from outside colleges.  The competition kicked off with an energizing quiz, testing participants' mathematical sharpness and problem-solving skills.
