Intercollegiate Seminar Competition

 

    The Department of Mathematics, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance
Cell (IQAC), successfully hosted an Intercollegiate Seminar Competition on 29th 
January 2025, under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. Iqbal N. Shaikh and Vice-
Principal Dr. Amjad Shaikh, the event witnessed overwhelming participation from students
across multiple institutions, making it a grand success.
The primary objective of the competition was to enhance students’ problem-solving
skills, critical thinking, and mathematical knowledge. The event saw enthusiastic
participation, with 18 students competing in the seminar competition.
Dr. Veena Kshirsagar, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, MIT College,
graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and judge for the seminar competition, while Mr.
Akhlaque Ahmed, a retired professor from Poona College, evaluated the seminar
presentations.

Participating Institutions: Renowned colleges such as SP College, Wadia College, SM
Joshi College, Sarhad College, Dr. Arvind Telang College, and Keystone School of
Engineering participated in the event, further elevating the level of competition.

Event Highlights: The program commenced with a soulful recitation of verses from the Holy
Quran by Mr. Parvez Qureshi, a T.Y. B.Sc. Student. Mr. Mubeen Ansari introduced the Chief
Guest, Dr. Veena Kshirsagar, while Mrs. Shaheen Khan, along with alumni Ms. Masira Khan
and Ms. Khadija Shaikh, compered the event. Ms. Namira Shaikh played a crucial role in
managing the entire event. Mrs. Munzarin Sajjan proposed the vote of thanks.

Winners of the Seminar Competition:

First Prize: Taha Luvy Ezzi (FYBSc, Poona College)

Second Prize: Mahek Suhail Shaikh (BE, Keystone School of Engineering)

Third Prize: Rushikesh Prakash Jadhav (SYBSc, SP College)

    The event concluded with a valedictory session, where the winners were honored with
certificates and cash prizes. The organizers extended their heartfelt gratitude to Principal Dr.
Iqbal Shaikh and Vice Principal Dr. Amjad Shaikh for their unwavering support and
encouragement.
    The successful execution of the competition was spearheaded by Dr. Amjad Shaikh, Mrs.
Munzarin Sajjan, and Mr. Mubeen Ansari, whose dedication ensured the event’s smooth
coordination. The competition provided an invaluable platform for students to demonstrate
their knowledge while fostering a spirit of learning and collaboration.

A trip to Nehru Planetarium and Science Park, Mumbai-January 2016

A study Tour  to  Nehru Planetarium and Science Park, Mumbai. An Excursion Tour to visit Nehru Planetarium and Science park (Mumbai) was organized by the department on 16 January 2016 . The team of around 31 students of S.Y/T.Y.B.Sc (Mathematics) and three  staff members visited the place. The   visit inspired the students for higher studies. Intercollegiate Quiz Competition -2024

  Department of mathematics, statistics in association with IQAC  had organized Intercollegiate Quiz Competition on 14th March 2024. The Competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 50 participants have participated in quiz competitions of which 21 participants from outside colleges.
