  Department of Mathematics in association with IQAC has organized an Intercollegiate Quiz C ompetition on 29 th January 2025. The Competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, SM Joshi College, Sarhad College, Dr. Arvind Telang College and SP College etc creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 54 participants have participated in quiz competitions of which 24 participants from other colleges. The competition kicked off with an energizing quiz, testing participants' mathematical sharpness and problem-solving skills. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their academic talents, fostered a sense of community among participants, and promoted interdisciplinary collaboration.   Department of Mathematics had organized “ Book Review Competition ” under Math club on 05 th October 2024 at 11:00 AM in Department of Mathematics. Total 11 students were participated. They realize the importance of the subject, use of library resources, got the idea of critical analysis, conclusion and suggestions. This activity was coordinated by Mr. Mubeen Ansari.   Students of TYBSc Mathematics participated and  won best college trophy.  

  The Department of Mathematics organized “ Parents Teacher Meet ” on 28th   August 2024 in Conference Hall   at 1 2 . 0 0  noon  for F.Y/S.Y/ T.Y.B.Sc students . The program begins with the recitation of few verses from Holy Quran by Mr. Parvez Qureshi  (student of T.Y.B.Sc Mathematics). Dr. Amjad Shaikh, the head of the Mathematics department, kicked off the meeting with an overview of the department's vision and goals. Mrs. Munzarin Sajjan then introduced the faculty members and outlined the courses available for T.Y.B.Sc Mathematics students. She also highlighted various departmental activities from recent years, such as educational tours, certificate courses, expert talks, and collaborations with different institutes. Additionally, she mentioned engaging events like quizzes, puzzles, and seminar competitions that contribute to a dynamic learning atmosphere.   It's a matter of great pleasure that Department of mathematics had organized a   one month “Certificate Course in   Data Science"   for FY/SY/T.Y.B.Sc, FY/SYBSc(CS)   students.   Dr. Amjad Shaikh   was   the   coordinator. The   Certificate   course   in   Data Science was   introduced   to   train   the   students, the basic concepts of the Data Science  This course involves a lab   component   which   is   designed   to   give   the   student   hands-on   experience   with   the   concepts.   We aim to provide exposure to problem-solving through programming.   The D epartment of Mathematics in association with IQAC  organized a “G uest L ecture ”   for F.Y/S.Y/T.Y.B.Sc /B.Sc(CS)/B.A  (Mathematics)  students  on 24th December  20 24   to mark the occasion of National Mathematics Day, celebrated annually on December 22nd, in honor of the legendary mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. A  guest lecture were on  the topic   “ Career Opportunities in Applied Mathematics”.     The lecture focused on the evolving career opportunities in the field of applied mathematics, aiming to inspire students and raise awareness about the versatile applications of mathematics in various industries and academic fields.   It’s a matter of great pleasure that Department of Mathematics in association with IQAC has organized Inter-Collegiate Poster Competition entitled “Role of Mathematics in Modern Technology ” on 4 th September 2024. The main objective of the competition was to create awareness among the students about various applications of mathematics in modern technology. The program was inaugurated by honorable V ice Principal and Head, Department of Mathematics Dr. Amjad Shaikh . The program was coordinated by Ms. Malika Mukadam  and Mr. Mubeen Ansari under the guidance of V ice Principal and Head, Department of Mathematics Dr. Amjad Shaikh .
