Alumni Meet 2023-24

 An Alumni meet was held 23rd September, 2023 Saturday at 11:30 am in the Department of Mathematics. 09 students who had passed T.Y.B.Sc. (Maths) from Poona College participated. The alumni meet is to reconnect with the Alumni and celebrate their success and various achievements. The program was presided over by Dr. Amjad Shaikh (H.O.D, Maths). Aims and objectives of the meeting were conveyed by him. He encouraged the participants to play active role in strengthening the relationship with the institution by their contribution. The participants introduced themselves and expressed their views. They intended to extend their cooperation with the Institution. During the interaction session 

 Mr Yunus(Test engineer at Wipro, Pune) discussed about the current trends in mathematics and certifications in the industry and about online certifications of various courses. 

 Mr. Wasim Shaikh (Director at Talent Hub Academy, Pune) interacted with the students and gave career guidance regarding higher studies and placements. Alumni answered question of students regarding courses they should take during their regular semesters. To communicate with alumni department created whatsapp group and will update it time to time. 

The program was concluded with the vote of thanks by Ms. Namira Shaikh. At the end refreshment was served to all participants. A group photo was taken to commemorate the day’s events. The alumni bid each other farewell, promising to recreate this day again soon. They left feeling rejuvenated and refreshed, having enjoyed a delightful day spent in the company of their friends.

A study Tour to  Science Park, Chinchwad, Pune. A study tour organized by the department of mathematics was held on 19th December  2013 to  Science Park,Chinchwad, Pune. The team of around 30 students of T.Y.B.Sc (Mathematics) and three   staff members visited the place.They enjoyed  simulated night sky with various  planets , stars, phases of moon, circumpolar sky on poles and many more features and concepts of basic astronomy.  They also visited various sections of the parks such as Dino park,Fun science,Climate change, energy park & amazing  3D show.They purchased many scientific toys  like mathematics puzzle, balloon  car etc for children, which can create awareness about mathematics & science. The tour has been proved Knowledgeable and beneficial to all of them. Outreach Program: Educational Trip to AKIs Urdu School, Mahabaleshwar

 On January 27, 2024, the Department of Mathematics,  in collaboration with IQAC, embarked on an enriching outreach program. As part of this initiative, 43 enthusiastic students from SYBSc, SYBSc (CS), and TYBSc mathematics, accompanied by 5 staff members, ventured to AKIs Urdu School in Mahabaleshwar. This one-day educational trip aimed to share knowledge and understanding of mathematical concepts through engaging activities and spark interest and appreciation for mathematics among students at the Urdu school. The program unfolded with a variety of captivating activities, specifically tailored to ignite the students' curiosity towards mathematics. Interactive games, problem-solving challenges, and creative math projects provided a platform for active participation and a fun learning experience. The college students served as mentors and guides, readily sharing their knowledge and passion for the subject. The outreach program at AKIs Urdu School proved to be a resounding success. N

  A visit to IUCAA on 28 th  February 2019 (National Science day)       Department Of Mathematics Organized  a visit to IUCAA on 28 th  February 2024 on the occasion of  National Science day.     13  students of  T.Y.B.Sc participated. They gained the knowledge about Galaxies, clusters and recent research in Astronomy and Astrophysics.  Mrs. Munzarin Sajjan and Ms. Namira Shaikh co-ordinated the event and guided the students.
