Guest Lecture on the topic “Maryam Mirzakhani: A Traiblaizing Mathematics Genius”

  Department of Mathematics , Statistics in association with IQAC had organized G uest Lecture on the topic “Maryam Mirzakhani: A Traiblaizing Mathematics Genius” at 12:30PM in conference hall on the ocaassion of   International Mathematics Day (Pi Day) on 14 th  March 2024 .  Mrs. Shaheen Khan introduced guest and our respected Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh sir  felicitated the guest Dr. Ganesh Kadu (Assistant professor, Department of Mathematics, SPPU). Dr Ganesh Kadu delivered very informative talk about Mariyam Mirzakhani and her contribution in mathematics. The lecture was attended by 66 students from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University and 7 faculty members of mathematics and statistics departments.   This event was coordinated by Dr. Amjad Shaikh. We thanks to respected Principal Dr. Aftab Anwar Shaikh sir and Dr. Iqbal Shaikh sir for guidance, motivation and standing as pillars of strength.

Intercollegiate Seminar Competition

  Department of Mathematics , Statistics in association with IQAC has celebrated International Mathematics Day (Pi Day) on 14 th March 2024 . On this occasion department had organized Intercollegiate   Seminar Competition. The competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like  Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 13 participants have participated in seminar competition of which 8 participants from outside colleges.   The  event  provided a platform for students to showcase their academic talents, fostered a sense of community among participants, and promoted interdisciplinary collaboration. International Mathematics Day Celebration 2024

  Department of mathematics, statistics in association with IQAC has celebrated International Mathematics Day(Pi day) on 14 March 2024. On this occasion various events like Intercollegiate Mathematics Competitions, such as Quiz,  Seminar competitions and Guest lecture  were organised. The Competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 62 participants have participated in quiz and seminar competitions of which 28 participants from outside colleges.  The competition kicked off with an energizing quiz, testing participants' mathematical sharpness and problem-solving skills. The seminar component featured presentations by participants on advanced mathematical concepts and applications. A highlight of the event was the insightful guest

The Competition marked a celebration of intellectual mastery and mathematical excellence. The event brought together enthusiastic participants from various colleges, like Nowrosjee Wadia College, Fergusson College, SM Joshi College, MIT-ADT University creating an environment of healthy competition. Total 50 participants have participated in quiz competitions of which 21 participants from outside colleges.
